The Rivers Bend AEYC Board includes a Public Policy committee. This committee is chaired by the Public Policy Chair, who is appointed by the President. Other members of the committee are recruited from public policy leaders and stakeholders in Rivers Bend Region.
The purpose of the committee is to keep Rivers Bend AEYC’s public policy platform and immediate priorities current, and to work with the Board on changes and additions to the policy program, both annually and as needed during legislative sessions. In addition, the committee strives to educate and engage the members in appropriate legislative and policy advocacy.
RBAEYC has adapted and thereby supports the Public Policy Platform of AEYC-MO. Routine emails are sent by the local committee chair, to interested individuals, about legislative issues affecting children in Missouri as well as across the United States. You may contact the local Public Policy Chair and request to be placed in the local email notification.
In addition, NAEYC provides valuable information through their site called Children’s Champions. They distribute email updates as public policy issues become apparent. You may also become a registered participant for the Children’s Champions email updates through the NAEYC website at www.NAEYC.org/policy.
